How to layer two fragrances without losing either

Layering is not about wearing two loud fragrances at once. It is about giving one of them a supporting role.
Start with the softer one
Apply the lighter, simpler fragrance first, usually a musk, a fresh or a single-note scent. Give it a minute to settle.
Add the leading fragrance in fewer places
Spray the richer fragrance on the neck or chest only. That way the two meet at the edges rather than fighting on the same patch of skin.
Pairings that tend to work
Water lily under amber. Iris over white musk. A rose with a touch of oud. If in doubt, layer within the same family and test on a pulse point before you leave the house.
